These conferences are 20 years old and originated in Japan. They are now organized by the International Computer Games Association (icga.org). The ICGA has two conference series — Computers and Games and Advances in Computer Games — which tend to alternate in years. CG features cutting edge artificial intelligence technology as applied to computer games. ACG is an internationally renowned conference that publishes computer-based studies of games.
