Dr. Littlechild presented images of the Ermineskin Residential School and spoke of his 14 years in three different schools. He spoke of the genesis of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and the Calls to Action. He also spoke of at least 4300, (potentially 6000) children who died at residential schools: freezing, drowning and beaten to death. Dr. Littlechild addressed the trauma of residential schools and the health impact on Indigenous people. Dr. Littlechild was involved in the TRC. He highlighted the Principles of Reconciliation and the health-related TRC Calls to Action, and particularly the importance of cultural and spiritual health. \"The right to health is central to the right of self determination\".
