The cult of water held an important place in the Druidic religion. It is said that Saint Samson drank water from the fountain after meeting a mermaid and he received extreme strength. The construction of the fountain accompanying the chapel dates back to 1632, the waters were said to have the property of curing eye ailments and making it easier for children to walk. Women who wanted to have children came to drink their water or rub against the large stone in the enclosure of the chapel. The source is protected by three low walls on which rests the upper part consisting of a semicircular intrados with keystones. A channel allows the water to fill a small basin located in front of the fountain which allowed pilgrims to collect the miraculous water without polluting the source.
