The semicircular opening is molded. On the ridge, a Christ on the cross between the Virgin and Saint John, with two thieves at their sides. The granite niche sculpture, formerly polychrome, depicts an Eternal Father wearing a crown and supporting his son. This fountain is composed of three basins: one dedicated to Saint Mathurin, another to Our Lady of Clarity, and the third to the Trinity. This association of the Trinity and Saint Mathurin is unusual, as Saint Mathurin was not a Breton saint, but a saint from the Gâtinais region, reputed to drive out demons and appease the impulsive. He was invoked in the Middle Ages to heal the insane.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eIn 1198, the Order of the Most Holy Trinity and the Redemption of Captives was founded to redeem Christians held in slavery in the Barbary states of North Africa.
