This site was a popular pilgrimage site in the Middle Ages and was one of the stops on the Tro-Breiz route between Saint-Pol and Tréguier. The abundant spring was highly valued by pilgrims, who had a nearby hospital. A small oratory also existed on this site. This was replaced in the late 14th and early 15th centuries by order of Duke John V with a Gothic chapel. The chapel was destroyed during the Revolution; the only remaining element of this building is the extensively remodeled porch.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eAt the Carmelite Fountain, two paired semicircular arched doors from the 17th century are visible, supporting a tympanum decorated with trefoiled lancets. The magnificent rose window is the only original element of the 15th-century building. Two basins were created under the arches of the doors to collect the spring water. A sloping paved section leads to the small paved enclosure in front of the two cavities. Along the side wall, a stone basin allows visitors to appreciate the tranquility of this site. Above, in one of the arcades, a statue depicting a Carmelite nun, likely the one responsible for the construction of this convent. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eIt is also known as the Al-Lez fountain, or the Milk Fountain. Pins are thrown into it to determine the date of a wedding.
