He had the farming equipment agency until he retired and moved in Edmonton. She married a banker, who worked in the bank in Thorhild. He was originally from Moose Jaw. In 1953, she was married.  He was transferred through the bank to different communities, and then Medicine Hat. She was 19 when she left home. Stayed with her parents until she got married. She got her grade 11 and then went to Alberta College and took a course in stenography. After they were married, she worked in a medical arts clinic for a number of years. After the dishes were done, they would put nuts and candies in the wheat and the children would go get them. Her aunt would go dress up as Santa Claus and had store bought goodies in her bag. She remembers getting a kewpie doll. They would also get an apple and an orange and another goodie. They celebrated January 6th at Baba’s home. There were lots of community and family get togethers. Remembers that it was very common for somebody to just stop by. At that time, if someone was going to town, they would stop at the neighbours to see if they needed anything. Naturally there would be more visiting.
