Large datasets are more readily generated due to the decreasing cost of omics in both basic and applied sciences. AI offers new avenues and approaches to more effectively analyse and use this data to improve patient outcomes and find patterns that are not immediately clear. We hope that hearing how others integrate Artificial Intelligence in their work inspires you to ask new questions and start new collaborations!\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\u003cp\u003eThis AI in Health Workshop will be co-hosted by DoM-GSA, AI4Society, Precision Health Signature Areas.\u003cbr\u003ePresenters Bio:\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\u003cp\u003eDr. Russ Greiner: After earning a PhD from Stanford, Russ Greiner worked in both academic and industrial research before settling at the University of Alberta, where he is now a Professor in Computing Science and the founding Scientific Director of the Alberta Machine Intelligence Institute.He has extensive experience utilizing AI to provide new insights on long studied diseases ranging from various cancers to schizophrenia.\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\u003cp\u003eAmira Aissiou: She is currently a fourth year medical student at the University of Alberta and is the co-founder of Artificial Intelligence Medical students society. While working towards her MD, she completed the special training in reaserch program with Dr. Russel Greiner and the AMII. Her project involved using Latent Dirichlet Allocation to categorize cancers based on their mRNA expression patterns.\u003cbr\u003eEvent Timetable\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\u003cp\u003eThis two hour seminar will consist of two sections: 1) After introductions, Dr. Greiner will present on what artificial intelligence is, the possible questions it can answer, and how he has used AI in his research (30 minutes).
