Lacking financial resources and wanting to go to Paris to seek help from King Childebert, he left his hermitage, walking along the left bank of the Rance where he encountered a ford. Here he met two blind men who also wanted to cross the ford. Initiating a conversation, they told him they were Christians. Touched by their blindness, Lunaire, realizing that they were at the edge of a stream formed by a spring, drew water to wash their eyes. The first blind man was cured but the second only regained the use of one eye. He had lied and was in reality only a catechumen (a Christian convert who hasn’t yet been baptised). Lunaire then undertook to complete his conversion, washed his eyes again and he completely recovered his sight.

At this location there are two fountains, on either side of the path which descends from La Falaise. The first is now reduced to two stone corner walls covered with a concrete slab and is often covered with ivy. The other fountain (which has been scanned and video recorded here), was erected behind the surrounding wall of the Péhou estate. Until 2006, it was not accessible because this wall blocked access. The commune of Péhou having obtained a right of passage created a path alongside the fountain and uncovered it from the vegetation. There is an ancient statue representing a mitred saint whose origin is uncertain. It nevertheless seems to date from the 16th or 17th century and gives the site a magical feel.

In the 14th century there was a Chapel Saint-Lunaire with a pilgrimage site nearby. Claimed in the 17th century by the owner of the manor of Vaux-Carheil, it was dismantled (although at that time in poor condition) and reassembled, stone by stone within the enclosure of the estate of this manor.
