It has a particular structure, a pyramid-shaped mass topped by a shaft topped with a cross. A deep niche houses a statue of Saint-Miliau represented as the king of Cornouaille, his head encircled by a crown, his right hand resting on the hilt of his sword. On each side of the ridge are two mutilated statues representing a Christ in pain on the left and the remains of a crucified Christ on the right. Saint-Miliau (grandson of Alain Le Long, 11th king of Brittany), while he reigned over Brittany in 531, was killed along with his son Mélar by Rivod, Miliau's brother, who was thirsty for power and wanted to become sovereign. People came to pray to the saint to cure ulcers, soothe rheumatic pain, and cure boils. As an offering, money was thrown into the fountain. The pardon is on the third Sunday in July. The name Guimiliau comes from the Breton Gwic (parish town) and Saint-Miliau.
