Wendil says he was a good man with a good family. However, if the man went to town, he wouldn't come home until he was drunk. Sometimes they would put him in a buggy and let the horse bring him home. Wendil's father never drank. Once, when Wendil (aged 15 or 16) and his father went into town for business, they went into a beer store. It was the first time either Wendil or his father had liquor. Wendil was happy that his father wasn't abusive.","format":"text/plain","label":{"en":["Synopsis"]}}],"target":"https://ualberta.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1776/collection_resources/58846/file/133443#t=456.0,568.0"},{"id":"https://ualberta.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1776/collection_resources/58846/file/133443/index/77316/annotation/9","type":"Annotation","motivation":"supplementing","body":[{"type":"TextualBody","value":"Activities, sports, entertainment","format":"text/plain","label":{"en":["Title"]}}],"target":"https://ualberta.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1776/collection_resources/58846/file/133443#t=568.0,874.0"},{"id":"https://ualberta.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1776/collection_resources/58846/file/133443/index/77316/annotation/10","type":"Annotation","motivation":"supplementing","body":[{"type":"TextualBody","value":"Wendil and his friends would play games together, though he can't remember the exact games.
