Both fountains are in Plouharnel which saw the passage of emigrants and republicans in 1795. General Hoche monitored the operations of Sainte Barbe, a village formerly on the edge of the ocean. One hundred and fifty years later in 1945, the dunes of Plouharnel were the subject of other battles, when the Germans withdrew surrounded by the Allies. The remains of several blockhouses from the Atlantic Wall remain on the coast.\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\u003cp\u003eBy taking the path that leads to the Sainte-Barbe fountain on the right before the building, you will notice a spring. This is embedded in the embankment maintained by a stone wall. The entrance is made up of a large block cut into an arch and topped with a cross carved in relief in a stone. On one side three steps provide access to the fountain, on the other a paved passage. The water passes under the path to reach the central basin wash house a little further on. Eight double washing stones are arranged around it, allowing face-to-face washing, which is more user-friendly, but uncomfortable.
