CKSR was a predecessor of CJSR - Edmonton’s only independent, volunteer-powered, campus-based community radio station located in the basement of the University of Alberta’s Students’ Union Building. It traces its roots back to CKUA radio station, which was owned by the university until 1944, and which provided the foundation and infrastructure for the creation of the University of Alberta Student Radio Directorate, the direct progenitor of CJSR. The collection consists of 15 CKSR program recordings from the 1970s.
