“In Touch with U '' was a series of informal, human interest stories produced between 1974 to 1976 by the U of A’s Department of Radio and Television. From jogging, to weather satellites, to Student Legal Services, these brief productions profiled diverse activities, people, and facilities, and were filmed at various locations around the University of Alberta campus.
Documenting student life and campus activities, these stories also reflect the use of film technology in teaching and research in an academic environment, and highlight the Department of Radio and Television function as a producer of documentaries, news clips, and news features for broadcast on local television stations. They are a valuable window into the past to view issues, like housing, faced by the entire university community, and remember otherwise undocumented facets of the university experience.
This collection is part of the Department of Radio and Television fonds housed at the University of Alberta Archives. More programs are being digitized and added to this collection.
