The Sanctuary Project is a multi-year data collection effort aimed at documenting and preserving Ukrainian sacral culture on the Canadian Prairies. It ran from 2009 to 2018. The participants in the project are John-Paul Himka, Professor of History and Classics, Natalie Kononenko, Kule Chair in Ukrainian Ethnography, Department of Modern Languages and Cultural Studies, and Frances Swyripa, Professor of History and Classics.
